The purpose of reading grammar through the mother tongue.
Today we will know, how did human language originate? How did the letters of his writing originate? What changes? What is the purpose of mother tongue grammar lessons? What is the relation of grammar with language? When was Bengali grammar written? And continue to be? What should Bengali grammar look like?
Humans are born with a vocal cords. With the help of this vocabulary, people can express their feelings to others. Therefore, its language originates from the human speech system.
But what is the language? When the phonetic co-operative uttered with the help of vocabulary can express one idea of the mind to the other, it becomes language. Therefore, language originates from the words of human mouth. Man first hears and learns this language from his mother’s mouth in the early hours of his childhood. For him this language is his mother tongue. This mother tongue is very dear to him. Language originates from the sounds spoken in human mouth. But the overall identity of the language does not end there. There are many other aspects of language identity. There is a slight difference between the language of one region and the language of another. Again, the difference between the language of one period and the language of later became noticeable.
Moreover, the language of one group is slightly different from the language of another group, but if it is a single geographical territory, if it is the same ethnic group, that is, religion, profession, language or class are not one, but the basic structure of the language remains the same despite the apparent differences. That is the main feature of language.
In that language, human emotions are exchanged with a larger population. In addition to daily activities, that language paves the way for social cohesion. That is the beginning of the great unity of national unity. In a nutshell, then, language is a set of phonetic, meaningful, polynomial sounds. Then how many poems, literature, essays, plays, etc. were written in that language and began to be stored in the golden vessels of history. Of course, they can all be written in the regional language. But its enjoyment is limited to a limited population. The field of enjoyment and expansion of literature written in language is wider.
Let us now discuss a new and groundbreaking change in language. So far word of mouth or language has been discussed. People have spoken their minds to the people closest to them. And people close to him have heard him and sent him to the realm of their own perception. But then even if people want to communicate with people far away, if they want to give stability to their own words. At that urging, he discovered the technique of writing from a picture and sat down. Ever since then, who has written or recorded the words of the mind with the help of letters, have you ever thought about the groundbreaking change in it? Earlier, a person used to speak his mind with the help of his mouth.
What happened now? A man writes the word of his mind on a piece of paper or something similar, using his eyes and hands. He let go of his face. The one who wore it, he let go of his ears, he used his eyes. Because he could read with his eyes. In the changed system, the mouth and ears are relaxed. Hands and eyes went to work. In it, the connection between the near and the distant, the past with the past was established. As well as if there is evidence.
The world poet Rabindranath Tagore said about this language, “The comparative grammar of all the dialects prevalent in different parts of Bangladesh is the scientific grammar of Bengali.”
Grammar judging the purity and impurity of the spoken or written mother tongue. And guiding the way by correcting inaccuracies and applying the pure form of language. The word grammar is derived from Sanskrit. But the meaning of the word grammar in Bengali is much more extensive than its root form including its root form. Even English grammar is different from ‘art of speaking and writing a language correctly’. Now the subject of linguistics has been added to the grammar. Besides, how the form and meaning of the source of the word is its evolution, its relation with the dialect including the change of meaning and the judgment of the correctness and impurity of its words and sentences.
Language expresses the mind; And Bacon not only helps to express the thoughts of the mind in its purest form, but also draws the line of the pure structure and expression of the sentence by pointing out the morphological and semantic evolution of the word, its application-variety and application-characteristics. So language is created first, grammar is created later.
Bengali language was born more than a thousand years ago. But his first grammar book, written by a foreigner, is a little over 265 years old. Bengali grammar was first printed in Roman letters in 1743 by the Portuguese priest Manoel-da-Assumpcao. It was later translated into Bengali as Portuguese Bengali Grammar and Glossary. Then Englishman Nathaniel Brassey Halhed wrote grammar in Bengali in 1778 AD. The grammar of the Bengal language 1778. The next Bengali grammar writer was Rammohun’s book ‘Gaudiya Grammar – 1833’, which was published after Rammohun’s death. Nakuleshwar Vidyabhushan’s ‘Bangla Grammar’, Harprasad Shastri’s ‘Bangla Prothom Grammar’, Rabindranath’s ‘Shabda Tattva’ in 1909, Suniti Kumar Chattopadhyay‘s ‘Bhasha Prakash Bangla Grammar’ and Sukumar Sen among others.
Among them, Sunitikumar was the first to introduce this grammar in Bengali grammar and gave a respectable place to the major dialects. Till now Sanskrit grammar was followed in the name of Bengali grammar. But Rabindranath Tagore was the first to say that the Bengali language follows the rules of Bengali grammar and that grammar is not completely governed by Sanskrit grammar.
According to Sanskrit grammar, the first attempt to compose Bengali grammar was made by Sanskrit scholars. So what was the attempt to make Bengali grammar flow in the field of Sanskrit grammar. According to Rabindranath, if Bengal has to be accepted as the child of Sanskrit, then it must also be admitted that it has passed 16 years. His well-thought-out opinion is that the grammar is more accurate than the number of dialects prevalent in different parts of Bangladesh. In fact, the basis of Bengali grammar should be established on the basis of the main features of Bengali dialects.
Of course, we want to get due respect for the Sanskrit words used in Bengali language. Therefore, the purpose of reading the grammar of the mother tongue is not only to read or understand our mother tongue correctly, but also to create in our minds a clear idea about its main features, variations and trends.
